If you want to use a custom kernel, or a test kernel -- e.g. from updates-testing or koji -- or if there is a very new kernel in the updates repo, then you must either wait for rpmfusion to rebuild binary kmods to match, or you must yumdownload and rpmbuild the source rpm manually. Enter a better way: automatic kmod rebuilding. Using akmods, as soon as you install a new kernel, if a matching kmod version does not already exist, it will automatically be rebuilt from the akmod source rpm and immediately installed. The tp_smapi kernel module exposes some features of the ThinkPad hardware/firmware via a sysfs interface. Currently, the main implemented functionality is control of battery charging and extended battery status. The underlying hardware interfaces are SMAPI and direct access to the embedded controller This akmod-tp_smapi contains the required patch to compile against Fedora kernel >= 2.6.37 # audacious-mac Audacious plugin to play Monkey's Audio files (*.ape). # audacity Audacity is a cross-platform multitrack audio editor. The provided rpms are recompiled with mp3 support. # curl libcurl My rebuild of curl - available for Fedora 12 only - includes the currently required compiled-in-features to run Vmware Player 3.* on Fedora 12 # bluefish Bluefish is a powerful editor for experienced web designers and programmers. Bluefish supports many programming and markup languages, but it focuses on editing dynamic and interactive websites # bluefish-unstable Development version of Bluefish (CVS) which is called 'unstable' because the features change quickly, but the program is still rock solid. We have two new plugins called infobrowser and snippets that replace the older function reference and the custom menu features. Also some improvements for the search and replace functionality (including a new block synchronisation feature), the html image dialog, spell check dialog, advanced open dialog and more. Bluefish-unstable can be installed next to your normal bluefish install. # DBP (David's Batch Processor) DBP is a simple batch processing plugin for the Gimp - it allows the user to automatically perform operations (such as re-size) on a collection of image files. Its main advantage is that the user does not have to learn a scripting language. Like the Gimp itself, DBP relies on a graphical interface. The user creates a list of images, and sets up the processing required for each image. The results of the current settings can be displayed. Once the required sequence of operations has been set up, DBP performs the same processing on each image in turn. The images can be color corrected, re-sized, cropped, and sharpened, then renamed and saved to a different file in a specified image format. All the steps (except loading and saving the image!) are optional; so the simplest use of DBP is just to convert a number of image files from one format to another. # epiphany My build of Epiphany - available for Fedora 11 only - includes the currently missed patch for the "epiphany doesn't show the favicon any more for some web site" bug. # faenza icon theme The icon theme contains icons for the Equinox GTK Engine. It too matches the raptor-gnome-theme. # galeon Galeon is a browser written in GTK+ which uses Gecko, the Mozilla rendering engine, for rendering Web pages. It is developed to be fast and lightweight # gentoo gentoo is a file manager for Linux written from scratch in pure C. It uses the GTK+ toolkit for all of its interface needs. gentoo provides 100% GUI configurability; no need to edit config files by hand and re- start the program. gentoo supports identifying the type of various files (using extension, regular expressions, and/or the 'file' command), and can display files of different types with different colors and icons. gentoo borrows some of its look and feel from the classic Amiga file manager "Directory OPUS"(TM) (written by Jonathan Potter) # jailkit Jailkit is a set of utilities to limit user accounts to specific files using chroot() and or specific commands. Setting up a chroot shell, a shell limited to some specific command, or a daemon inside a chroot jail is a lot easier using these utilities. # k3b-apm This package adds support for decoding/encoding Monkey's Audio files to K3b # mplayerplug-in mplayerplug-in is a Netscape/Mozilla browser plugin to allow playing embedded movies on web pages # perl-Net-XWhois This module contains a Whois Client Interface for Perl. # prism (previously called "WebRunner") Prism is an application that lets users split web applications out of their browser and run them directly on their desktop. You can use prism for Zattoo Web TV (unfortunately available as flash application on Linux only) to get it full screen. This is the static version of prism without the need of a pre-installed Firefox browser. # raptor-gnome-theme Raptor is a new version of the GTK theme "Slickness", abandonate in 2.21 version. Buttons, scrollbars, progressbars, entrymenu (and more) was remake. # ssvnc-viewer The Enhanced TightVNC Viewer package started as a project to add some patches to the long neglected Unix TightVNC Viewer. Enhanced by Karl Runge. # streamripper streamripper records shoutcast compatible and live365 streams. For shoutcast style streams it finds the "meta data" or track separation data, and uses that as a marker for where the track should be separated. For live365 streams it hits the website and finds when a track has changed. Either way, the MP3 data will be decoded and scanned for a silent point which is where tracks will be created # streamtuner Streamtuner is a stream directory browser, it offers an intuitive GTK+ 2.0 interface to Internet radio directories such as SHOUTcast and Live365 # swftools / python-swftools SWFTools is a collection of utilities for working with Adobe Flash files (SWF files). The tool collection includes programs for reading SWF files, combining them, and creating them from other content (like images, sound files, videos or source code). Python-swftools provides Python bindings for swftools. # tovid A suite of shell scripts to make VCD, SVCD and DVD authoring a little easier. Converts arbitrary video formats into (S)VCD/DVD-compliant mpeg, and can help with menu creation and disc authoring # tpb -Thinkpad Buttons With TPB it is possible to bind a program to the ThinkPad, Mail, Home and Search buttons. TPB can also run a callback program on each state change with the changed state and the new state as options. So it is possible to trigger several actions on different events. TPB has a on-screen display (OSD) to show volume, mute, brightness and some other information. Furthermore TPB supports a software mixer, as the R series ThinkPads have no hardware mixer to change the volume. # tp_smapi This rpm depends on akmod-tp_smapi # xdigger The original KC85 - Digger rewritten for X11 Like Boulderdash (without scrolling). # xsane XSane is an X based interface for the SANE (Scanner Access Now Easy) library, which provides access to scanners, digital cameras, and other capture devices. XSane is written in GTK+ and provides control for performing the scan and then manipulating the captured image ..
